The FC Minerva Lintgen is a Luxembourg football club from Lintgen . The club plays its home games in the 1,700-seat Stade Jean Donnersbach .

history

The association was founded in 1910. During the German occupation of Luxembourg in World War II , the association was called FV Lintgen . In 1944 it was renamed FC Minerva .

Minerva Lintgen has never played in the club's history in the national division . After two seasons in the honorary doctorate in 1953/54 and 1955/56, Minerva only managed to move up to the second highest Luxembourg division in 2003. After two relegations and immediate re-promotion, the club was again able to assert itself in the honorary doctorate from 2007 to 2011.

In 2014 Lintgen won the barrage game against the 12th of the honorary doctorate, Alliance Aischdall Hobscheid-Eischen , as second in the third class 1st division , 4-2 on penalties and returned to the second division after three years. The remaining in the honorary doctorate could not be secured in the following season and thus one rose as bottom of the table back into the 1st division.

In the national cup competition , Minerva Lintgen reached the round of 16 in 2003/04 (1: 2 against Jeunesse Esch ) and 2008/09 (0: 2 against Etzella Ettelbrück ).
