The FDP. The Liberals Lucerne is today's name for the Liberals (throughout Switzerland: Free Democratic Party ). These were since the early 19th century under the name Liberal Party Lucerne (LPL; until August 28, 2000) one of the two state-sponsoring parties in the canton of Lucerne. In contrast to the Christian Democrats (Conservatives; the Reds ), they were called the Blacks . From 1847 to 1871 they made up the majority in government and parliament. From 1874/1875 to 2003 she always provided 2 of the 7 government councilors . In the cantonal parliament it always achieved a share of the electorate of more than 30% until 1991. After that, she lost voting shares to other parties (first SVP; then green liberals). Currently (Cantonal Council elections 2019), their share of the vote is 19.56%.
Elected officials
The party provides 22 of the 120 cantonal councilors (2019-2023), the government councilor Fabian Peter , the councilor of states Damian Müller and the national councilor Peter Schilliger . The parliamentary group president in the cantonal council is Georg Dubach.
