FFH protected area Externsteine

The FFH protected area Externsteine is located in the Lippe district in the main ridge of the Osning and Eggegebirge mountain range . The area is located west of the Horn district and southeast of the Holzhausen-Externsteine ​​district . It extends in the north-west over the Bärenstein , over the area of ​​the Externsteine and the valley of the Wiembecke and the Knickenhagen in the south-east. It is 124 hectares in size.

The FFH area is almost congruent with the Externsteine ​​nature reserve .
