history
FM2000 was founded in 1999 by Sebü, Rota and Kosmo. During the first ten years of their existence, they released numerous self-financed albums and demos. Then in February 2009 they received the Finnish Metal Award in the category “Best Demo Band” at the Helsinki Metal Expo, which immediately brought them a record deal with Sakara Records, the label of Mokoma . On March 4th, 2009 they released their debut album Meibi bus home? , which debuted at number 28 on the Finnish album charts. It received consistently good reviews in the Finnish media, where the band was believed to have a "kinship in spirit" with System of a Down . In October 2009 the EP Yes, Sir! , which reached number 9 in the charts.
In February 2010 they received another Finnish Metal Award, this time in the “Best Newcomer” category.
