history

founding

The forthcoming reunion during the year were in 1990 in the GDR and the New Federal States the same rights for automotive monitoring and licensing systems introduced in the former West Germany. With the liberalization of the testing system, freelance motor vehicle experts were able to form an officially recognized monitoring organization (ÜO). However, the stipulations of the StVZO (Road Traffic Licensing Regulations) stipulated that an officially recognized monitoring organization in a federal state must be formed and supported by at least 40 self-employed , full-time motor vehicle experts. To be recognized as a motor vehicle expert, proof of at least one year of independence was required. At that time, however, as the only exception to federal German law, proof of one year of self-employment was waived because this was in fact impossible in the GDR.

The TÜV Rheinland Berlin-Brandenburg, Rhineland-Palatinate eV (short TÜV Rheinland) sent a project team and the founding sponsor of the FSP vehicle safety inspection GmbH Co KG (short: FSP) to inform about the recognition legally required number of 40 automotive engineers and to accompany.

On September 25, 1990, 104 interested parties came together in the TÜV Rheinland headquarters in Cologne and the "FSP idea" that had been developed was presented to them.

54 people founded the FSP and signed the articles of association . They are the first sponsors of the monitoring organization FSP. On September 26, 1990, the FSP Fahrzeug-Sicherheitprüfung GmbH & Co KG for the GDR (Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Brandenburg, Saxony-Anhalt, Thuringia and Saxony) was recognized as a ÜO for periodic technical vehicle monitoring.

The first exams were taken in January 1991 before the state government of Saxony in Leipzig. The testing activities of the FSP began in February 1991. In 1991 the turnover of the FSP was approx. 10 million DM. In July 1993 the FSP headquarters in Geltow near Potsdam was moved into.
