The FT Döbern (full name Freie Turnerschaft Döbern ) was a workers' sports club from the city of Döbern in the Spree-Neisse district in Brandenburg . The club's soccer team took part in the games and championship rounds of the ATSB in the Weimar Republic .

history

The association was founded in Döbern in 1912. He belonged to the ATSB regional association 2. Märkische Spielvereinigung and played in the 16th ATSB district, which covered Niederlausitz and Neumark .

In the 1928/29 season , FT Döbern became champions of the 16th ATSB circuit. In the semifinals of the East German Association Championship, the club beat the East Prussian representative Vorwärts Königsberg 3-1 and in the East German final in Berlin TS Luckenwalde 4-2. As a result, FT Döbern qualified for the nationwide ATSB finals, in whose semifinals VfL Leipzig-Südost was beaten 3-1. In the final of the ATSB national championship on May 25, 1929 in Hamburg's Hoheluft stadium, FT Döbern lost 4: 5 to SC Lorbeer 06 Hamburg .

In the following season 1929/30 the FT Döbern reached second place in the 16th ATSB circle.

After the seizure of power of the Nazis , the club was banned in 1933 and disbanded, players then joined the SSVg Doebern on.
