The FV 1912 Mettingen was a German football club based in the Mettingen district of the Baden-Württemberg district town of Esslingen am Neckar in the district of the same name .

history

Founded until World War II

The association was founded in 1912. Within the Cannstatt District League , the team finished ninth after the 1930/31 season with 19:25 points. In qualifying for the Tschammer Cup in 1942 , the team failed with 1:10 at VfB Stuttgart . For the 1944/45 season , the team rose from the district league to the Gauliga Württemberg , where the club was then incorporated into season 3. As the Second World War progressed , the team was only able to play five games until the end of the season. At this time the team was with 3: 7 points in 5th place in the table.

post war period

After the 1954/55 season, the team qualified for the promotion relegation to the 2nd Amateur League Württemberg. With 20:13 points, the club placed first of the round and was allowed to advance to the next season. For the 1955/56 season, the team in the new division was then divided into season 6 and was then able to hold the league with 24:28 points and 10th place. After the 1958/59 season, the team, as a relay winner, was allowed to participate in the promotion round to the 1st Amateur League Württemberg . With 6:14 points, however, it was only enough for 5th place, with which one could not qualify for promotion. After the 1960/61 season, the 13th place with 22:34 points was also relegated from the 2nd amateur league. Although the team rose immediately after the following season 1961/62, but rose again after the season 1963/64 with 18:38 points over the 15th and thus last place again immediately.

The association was then demonstrably independent until at least May 1979. In the 1980s, the club then merged with TV Mettingen , to what is now SV Mettingen .
