Career

First major national achievements go green forest in Germany Cup season in 2005. He won this year the students vote, reaching in the standings with tenth place his best result. In June of the same year he took part in the FIS races for the first time in Traisen , but could only classify himself in the bottom field. A month later he started at the Junior World Championships 2005 in Nové Město na Moravě in the Czech Republic . Here, too, he only achieved placements in the last five.

At the beginning of the 2006 season, Grünwald achieved his best results in international races in the FIS races in Altenseelbach with 17th place in giant slalom and 20th place in slalom. At the Junior World Championships 2006 in Horní Lhota u Ostravy he was 25th in the giant slalom and 32nd in the Super-G. In the slalom, and therefore also in the combination, he failed. On August 19 and 20, 2006, he took part in World Cup races for the first time in České Petrovice . In the giant slalom he could not qualify for the second round and in the slalom he was eliminated in the first run, which is why he did not have any World Cup points this season. In 2007 Grünwald was unable to take part in any international races due to an injury; he only competed in two competitions in the German Cup.

In July 2008 Grünwald again took part in two World Cup races in Čenkovice . This time he won his first and only World Cup points with the 26th and last place in the giant slalom, because in the slalom he dropped out in the first round. In the 2008 season these were his only international races, in the overall World Cup he finished 70th last. In the 2009 season, Grünwald only took part in two competitions in the German Cup, after which he did not contest any more races.
