Fabian Scheidler

Fabian Scheidler (born July 22, 1968 in Bochum ) is a German author and dramaturge. He is co-founder of the independent television magazine Context TV and has worked as a dramaturge for the Grips-Theater for many years . In 2009, he received the Otto Brenner Media Prize for critical journalism for his journalistic and artistic work at Attac .

Life

Scheidler studied history and philosophy at the Free University of Berlin and theater directing at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Frankfurt am Main.

Since 2001 he has been working as a freelance writer for print media, television, theater and opera.

In 2009 he and David Goeßmann founded the independent television magazine Context TV, which regularly produces programs on issues of global justice and ecology.

In 2010 he was program coordinator of the Attac banking tribunal in the Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz.

As a dramaturge and playwright, he worked for the Berlin Grips Theater for many years.

In 2013, his opera “Death of a Banker” was premiered at the Gerhart-Hauptmann-Theater in Görlitz .

In 2015 Fabian Scheidler's book “Das Ende der Megamaschine. History of a Failing Civilization ”published by Promedia Verlag (Vienna).
