Fabio Bonizzoni

Fabio Bonizzoni (* 1965 in Milan ) is an Italian organist and harpsichordist .

life and work

Bonizzoni completed his studies in organ, organ composition and harpsichord in Italy with “summa cum laude”. From 1987 to 1994 he completed postgraduate studies with Ton Koopman at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag , specializing in baroque organ and harpsichord.

Bonizzoni is Professor of Harpsichord at the Conservatory of Trapani and the Conservatory of Italian Switzerland in Lugano and from 2006 to 2007 he was Professor of Harpsichord at the Conservatory of The Hague in the Netherlands. Bonizzoni is president of the "Associazione Hendel", an Italian music society that promotes the distribution and performance of the work of George Frideric Handel in Italy.

Bonizzoni took part in numerous festivals for early music and in particular in the "Baroque festivals" in many Italian and European cities. He played for the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, for the Rheingau Music Festival in Wiesbaden, for the Foundation Cini de Venezia , at the September Music Festival in Turin, at the Baroque Festival in Viterbo or at the Days of Early Music Regensburg 2019, of which, for example, performances by Bonizzoni were broadcast on German radio on August 18, 2019 as part of the ARD Radio Festival .

In May 2004 Bonizzoni recorded the Goldberg Variations by Johann Sebastian Bach on a harpsichord by Willem Kroesbergen for the Spanish label Glossa in the “Chiesa del Colletto” by Roletto . 2011 played Bonnizoni, some with a second harpsichord played by Mariko Uchimura , The Art of Fugue by Bach one.

In addition to his solo activity, Bonizzoni appears as a member and leader of his baroque music group La Risonanza .
