The tray pack in Nuremberg is a trade fair for packaging , technology and processes with a pan-European catchment area. The organizer is NürnbergMesse . Every three years, exposes the FachPack when in Dusseldorf the Interpack takes place. The trade visitors addressed include all packaging-intensive industries, e.g. B. Food, beverages, luxury foods, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, chemicals, health care, non-food, pet food, automotive, technical articles, medical technology and other consumer and industrial goods. Thematic focus

Environmentally friendly packaging has been one of the main themes of the fair since 2019. Under this focus, recycled or recyclable packaging, resource-saving materials, reusable packaging and systems as well as environmentally friendly processes are presented. In addition, Fachpack picks up on other trends in the packaging industry, presents current developments and, with its supporting program, offers a platform for the exchange of experts. For example, important trends in the packaging industry are presented and discussed in the forums Packbox and Techbox, special shows, workshops, meeting points and on the occasion of award ceremonies such as the German Packaging Prize.

Visitor and exhibitor numbers

In 1979 the first Fachpack started at the Nuremberg exhibition center with 80 exhibitors and 2,000 visitors. At the last trade fair in 2019, Fachpack occupied 12 exhibition halls. The gross exhibition area this year was 108,800 square meters. In 2019, 43,405 trade visitors obtained information from 1,590 exhibitors. 39 percent of the companies came from abroad, above all from Italy (76), the Netherlands (55), Switzerland (47), the Czech Republic (47), Poland (47), Turkey (42), Austria ( 41), France (39), Spain (25) and Belgium (24). Every second trade visitor has a managerial position and around one in five is on the executive board. The visitors came mainly from the food and beverages, pharmaceuticals and medicine, cosmetics, chemicals, electronics and automotive sectors. Every tenth visitor works in retail.

German packaging award

The German Packaging Institute traditionally awards the German Packaging Prize to the best and most innovative packaging solutions at Fachpack . In 2019, winners were awarded in nine categories: sustainability, packaging machines, product presentation, new materials, logistics and material flow, economy, design and refinement, functionality and convenience as well as in the junior sector. As a partner, Fachpack takes on the awarding of the young talent special prize. Here packaging concepts from schoolchildren, trainees and students are awarded prizes.
