The Specialized Information Service (FID) Mathematics took the place of the two special mathematical collections Pure Mathematics and Applied Mathematics in January 2016 as part of the Specialized Information Services for Science funding program of the German Research Foundation . It is operated jointly by the Göttingen State and University Library and the Technical Information Library in cooperation with the Oberwolfach Mathematical Research Institute .

In addition to the previous offers of the Virtual Library of Mathematics , the FID Mathematics portal offers the licenses for electronic resources acquired from the FID and access to research in the central archive of German mathematicians' bequests .
