Central archive of German mathematicians' papers

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The central archive of German mathematicians' papers was set up in 1992 as part of an agreement between the German Mathematicians Association and the Goettingen State and University Library .

The aim is to offer a place where the legacies of mathematicians are competently stored, organized and made available.

As a matter of principle, the central archive endeavors to preserve all the bequests of mathematicians and accepts them from all locations, unless other interests - for example local interests - oppose this. This archive was able to build on the extensive holdings that already existed in Göttingen, such as the bequests of Carl Friedrich Gauß or Bernhard Riemann , and tie in with the archive already started by Felix Klein .

The central archive works closely with the committee for mathematicians' bequests of the Academy of Sciences in Göttingen .
