Facundo Conte (born August 25, 1989 in Vicente López (Buenos Aires) ) is an Argentine volleyball player .

Career

Facundo Conte is the son of volleyball coach Hugo Conte , who won bronze as a player at the 1988 Olympic Games . He started his own career in 2005 with Rosario Sonder and played for Metropolitana the next season . With the Argentine juniors he was fourth in the 2007 World Cup and in 2008 the youngsters won the South American Championship. The outside attacker first played at Gimnasia y Esgrima de Buenos Aires in 2007/08 and then moved to the Italian second division club SP Catania . In 2008, he made his debut in the America's Cup in the senior team . After he had played another season in Italy's second division at Zinella Bologna in 2009/10 , he moved to the first division club Lube Macerata . There he won the Challenge Cup in 2011 . Then Conte first went to ER San Giustino , but in December 2011 he moved on to Acqua Paradiso Monza . With Argentina, he reached the quarter-finals at the 2012 Olympic Games . After the tournament he moved to the Russian club VK Dynamo Krasnodar . His girlfriend at the time, the Czech national player Helena Havelková , also played in Krasnodar. Conte has been under contract with the Polish club Skra Bełchatów since 2013 , with whom he became Polish champion in 2014 and finished fourth in the 2014/15 Champions League .
