Vicente López is a city in the Partido Vicente López of the same name in the province of Buenos Aires in Argentina. It is part of the metropolitan area of Gran Buenos Aires . It had about 24,000 inhabitants in 2001 and borders on Paraná Street to the north, Avenida Constituyentes to the west, Avenida General Paz to the south and the Río de la Plata to the east .

Surname

The name of the city honors Vicente López y Planes , an Argentine writer and politician who wrote the text of the Argentine national anthem, governor of the province of Buenos Aires (after the overthrow of Juan Manuel de Rosas ) and then president of Argentina as successor to Bernardino Rivadavia became.
