Faderhead is the pseudonym of the German singer and music producer Sami Mark Yahya from Hamburg .
history
The debut album FH1 was released in 2006 and received a positive response from the press. In the course of the year Faderhead went on tour and also played at first festivals like the Dark Dance Treffen and the Summer Darkness Festival .
In 2007 the album FH2 was released, on which the club hit "Dirtygrrrls / Dirtybois" can be found, and a music video for the song "Girly Show" was released.
In 2008 Faderhead split from his Accession Records label and released the piano ballad "Exit Ghost". A little later the club anthem "TZDV" was released and on October 10th the album FH3 , which received good reviews from the media and fans.
In 2009 Faderhead played the M'Era Luna Festival in Hildesheim (Germany), the Exit Festival in Novi Sad, Serbia, as well as shows in the Netherlands, Italy, Greece, UK, Belgium and Mexico. In October 2009 Faderhead released the "Horizon Born" EP, which only contained ballads.
In September 2010 his fourth album Black Friday was released , the release of which was accompanied by a short film. Faderhead played a club tour in Europe, such as the Christmas Ball Festival tour with Laibach, Project Pitchfork, Fields Of The Nephilim and Agonoize.
2011 started with a 15-show tour in the US with Aesthetic Perfection and Everything Goes Cold and ended with The Way To Fuck Clubs -EP.
In 2012, the fifth studio album, The World of Faderhead , was released, which was praised not only by local, but also by foreign music magazines. and was published with three 360 ° panorama images and three music videos integrated into the panoramas. The video for Fistful Of Fuck You became popular because of the video game style. Faderhead played a 14-show USA tour and played club concerts all over Europe as well as the M'era Luna Festival in Hildesheim (Germany). The European pressing of The World Of Faderhead was sold out before the end of the year and Faderhead released the double CD compilation Two Sides To Every Story. The first CD of this compilation contains Faderhead's most popular club tracks while the second CD contains his most popular pop songs / ballads.
In 2013 Faderhead released the FH4 album, whose first single Dancers with Techno MC Shawn Mierez ("I Like It Loud") was released. Worldwide concerts (including 14 shows in the USA) followed and Faderhead played again the Amphi Festival in Cologne (Germany).
The Atoms & Emptiness album was released in February 2014, followed by a 4-week co-headlining tour with Aesthetic Perfection, as well as the music videos for Stand Up and When The Freaks Come Out. After that, Faderhead decided to take a 1.5 year break from producing and performing live.
In February 2016, Faderhead released the FH-X album and toured England and Germany. In October he released the Anima In Machina EP and went on a Germany tour with Covenant during which the concerts in Hamburg, Hanover, Erfurt, Stuttgart, Krefeld and Frankfurt were all sold out. The Anima In Machina EP was number 1 in the German Alternative Charts (DAC) for 6 weeks in a row.
2017 began with the release of the Know Your Darkness single, a futurepop club song that debuted at chart position 1 in the German Alternative Charts (DAC). The ninth studio album Night Physics (including the single Know Your Darkness ) also reached number 1 in the German Alternative Charts (DAC).
Faderhead played 10 shows on the Night Physics Tour in Germany in 2018 and a concert in the Agra Hall of the Wave-Gotik-Treffen 2018. In the same year Faderhead went on tour again for 10 concerts with Project Pitchfork.
In 2019 Faderhead played on the main stage of the Amphi Festival in Cologne and at the NCN Festival in Leipzig before releasing the tenth studio album Asteria . Asteria includes the single From His Broken Bones and has often been referred to as "the darkest Faderhead album" by fans and press.
Faderhead's live shows are currently supported by Joe Meyer (Project SAM) and Jörg Lütkemeier (Straftanz) on keyboards and backing vocals. In addition to extensive tours, Faderhead is a regular guest at major scene festivals such as the Wave-Gotik-Treffen , the Amphi Festival or the M'era Luna Festival .
