(4804) Pasteur is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 2 December 1989 by the Belgian astronomer Eric Walter Elst at the La Silla Observatory of the European Southern Observatory ( IAU code was discovered 809).
The asteroid was named on November 21, 1991 after the French scientist and co-founder of microbiology Louis Pasteur (1822–1895).
