The Falak Sher (also Falak Sar ) is a striking 5918 m high mountain in the extreme north of the Ushu valley and the Swat district in the Pakistani province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Hinduraj . Mainly pine but also Himalayan cedars grow on its flanks up to a height of approx. 2800 m ; the summit region is covered with snow all year round.

Ascent history

The mountain was first climbed in 1957 by the New Zealanders WKA Berry and CH Tyndale-Biscoe via the north ridge . The mountain has now been climbed several times.

The Falak Sher is the motif of a Pakistani postage stamp.
