Falefatu is a small reef island in the reef rim of the Funafuti Atoll , Tuvalu .

geography

The island lies at a point in the atoll where the reef edge is interrupted. While the reef rim is shallowly below the surface to the south and the island of Mateiko connects, to the north the Puapua Deep Pass at the Funamanu Shoals offers boat access to the lagoon. The island of Funamanu joins in the northeast .
