As in previous years, the Moldovan television broadcaster TeleRadio-Moldova organized O Melodie Pentru Europa 2016 , the Moldovan preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest . On December 19, 2015, the participants for the competition were announced. Among them was the singer Lidia Isac with Falling Stars . She qualified in the second semifinals of the show for the final, which she won on February 27, 2016. She will represent her home country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Stockholm .

On May 1, 2016, the singer released Pluie d'étoiles , the French version of the song. On May 6, 2016, the Moldovan delegation decided to sing part of the song in French at the Eurovision Song Contest.
