Famar is a Greek contract manufacturer of cosmetics , pharmaceuticals , dietary supplements and other products.

Famar was founded in 1949 by the Greek Marinopoulos Group, to which it still belongs today. The group is one of the major contract manufacturers in Europe for the pharmaceutical industry. Famar offers services for drug development, production, logistics, research and development and the production of hygiene and beauty products.

In 2014 the group with 3,200 employees achieved a turnover of over 455 million euros with 150 customers and 770 million prepackages . It has nine production sites in Europe. These are in the Netherlands ( Bladel ), France ( Orléans-la-Source , Saint-Genis-Laval , L'Aigle (Orne) and Saint-Rémy-sur-Avre ), Spain ( Alcorcón ), Italy ( Baranzate ) and Greece (Anthoussa and Avlonas).

In 2009, McNeil, US subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson , sold its Orléans-la-Source site to Famar. In 2013, the previous location “Famar France d'Orléans”, the building of which came partly from the architectural estate of Jean Tschumi , was sold.
