Walfridsson (family)

The Walfridsson family from Torsby in the Swedish province of Värmland is a well-known family of motorists, at least in Scandinavia .

The three brothers and entrepreneurs Per-Inge (also known as “Pi”), Lars-Erik and Stig-Olov (nicknamed “Stecka”) secured countless successes in rallies and rallycross during their racing careers .

Pernilla Walfridsson

Per-Inge Walfridsson's eldest daughter Pernilla (born February 16, 1973) was considered one of the fastest rally drivers in the world for several years. Pernilla has since ended her own motorsport career and is married to the 2003 world rally champion , the Norwegian Petter Solberg . They have a son named Oliver, who has also achieved success as a motor sportsman.

Pernilla's greatest successes are:

  • 6th place in group N at the 1997 RAC rally (with co-driver and sister Linda Walfridsson)
  • 3rd place in group N at the Rally Finland 1998 (with co-driver Ulrika Mattsson)
  • 4th place in Group N at the 1998 Rally Great Britain (with co-driver Ulrika Mattsson)
  • 6th place in group N at the Rally Finland 2000 (with co-driver Ulrika Mattsson)
