criticism

In Paris Soir in April 1934 the following could be read: “I saw La Savelli, or rather 'Fanatisme'. In order to reshape the play by Max Maurey ... the director first had to change the title of the book ... so that there wasn't much left of this original work. (…) Fanatisme is a pretty annoying film, despite the decorations, costumes, balls and waxed mustache of Napoleon III. (…) Pola Négri did not find the role in La Savelli that suits her. This is heavyweight but not attractive. The artists are better than the script. "
