Live and act

Bouxin, who comes from the foothills of the Pyrenees , received his professional training at a school for applied arts in the mid-1920s before he was taken over by the film architect Jean Perrier as his assistant in 1926 . With the beginning of the sound film era, Bouxin was involved in an abundance of entertainment productions over the next three decades, although these rarely went beyond mediocre artistically and, especially in the 1950s, often played in the Parisian semi-world or entertainment milieu.

He designed u. a. the film structures for productions by Jean Epstein , Jacques de Baroncelli , Léon Mathot , Robert Vernay , Jean-Pierre Melville , Maurice Labro , John Berry and José Bénazéraf . Claude Bouxin spent most of the German occupation (1940 to 1944) in Toulouse , where he worked as a set designer. In this southern French city he also worked as a lecturer. After the war (late 1940s and early 1950s) Bouxin also designed the sets for Paris productions, which were performed at the Théâtre du Palais Royal and the Théâtre de la Potinière, among others.
