Jacques de Baroncelli

Marie Joseph Henri Jacques de Baroncelli de Javon (born June 25, 1881 in Bouillargues , France , † January 12, 1951 in Paris , France) was a French film director , screenwriter and film producer .

Life

The Baroncelli, who comes from a noble family in the south of France, was first a journalist (1913 editor of the weekly newspaper L'Eclair ) before he came to film in 1915. In the period from 1919 to 1939 in particular, he made some respectable films. Most of the time, however, he made films that were not artistically appealing , among others for Pathé ; his profession was rather entertaining films for the masses. In total he made over 80 films in more than three decades.
