The Fanovananewtonie or Fanovana-Newtonie ( Newtonia fanovanae ) is an on Madagascar endemic passerine bird in the family of Vangawürger (Vangidae).
features
This small, slim Vanga strangler is about 12 cm tall and 12 g in weight and is similar to the rust-bellied Newtonia . The head, forehead, ear covers and neck are gray, the back and wings are gray-brown. On the chest there are pale orange spots, the clearly reddish tail is striking, very similar to the female of the red-tailed vangas , but with a slimmer beak.

Fanovananewtonia feed on insects , which they look for in treetops along twigs and branches, often together with rust-bellied Newtonia and Timalia .
distribution and habitat
This species is found in the tropical and subtropical humid lowland forest below 1000 m, mostly between 300 and 800 m.
Hazardous situation
The stock is considered to be endangered ( Vulnerable ).
