Fatoumata Koala (born January 1, 2000 ) is a track and field athlete from Burkina Faso who competes in the sprint and hurdles as well as the triple jump .

Athletic career

Fatoumata Koala gained her first international experience at the Junior African Championships in Tlemcen , where she finished fourth in the 400 meter hurdles in 64.03 s. She then took part in the Youth World Championships in Nairobi , where she was eliminated with 65.42 s in the lead. In the following year, she reached ninth place in the triple jump at the African Championships in Asaba with 11.96 m and was eliminated in the hurdles in the preliminary round. In 2019 she reached the final of the 100 meter hurdles at the Junior African Championships in Abidjan , in which she could not finish her run and finished sixth in the 400 m hurdles in 62.47 s. In August she took part in the Africa Games in Rabat for the first time , where she was eliminated from the 100-meter run with 12.29 s in the first round, as well as over 400 m hurdles with a new personal best of 62.02 s. In addition, she finished sixth with the Burkinabe 4 x 100 meter relay in 46.77 s.
