Fausto Burgos (born February 7, 1888 in Medinas , Tucumán Province , † 1953 in San Rafael , Mendoza Province ) was an Argentine journalist and writer.

Life

Burgos came from a middle-class family: his father, Pedro Burgos, was a merchant and his mother, Carmen Bulacios, also worked in the family business. His three brothers were Horacio, Leopoldo and Oberto Burgos.

After finishing school in his home city of Burgos went to La Plata to at the local university to study. During his studies he soon had contact with various literary and artistic circles, where he also met his future wife, the sculptor María Elena Catullo .

After successfully completing his studies, Burgos began writing for various newspapers and magazines. He published regularly in Argentine newspapers such as “Caras y caretas”, “ El Mundo ”, “ La Nación ” and “ La Prensa ”. But also in foreign ones like “ ABC ”, “ El País ”, “ Vogue ” (Spain), “ Deutsches Volksblatt ” (Austria), “Los Andes” (Chile) or “El Crónica” (Peru).

Fausto Burgos died in 1953 at the age of 53 in San Rafael, Mendoza, where he found his final resting place.

Burgos was soon able to make a name for itself with its reports and reports. His articles in the features section were appreciated and his reports and reports soon appeared in magazines and newspapers abroad.

In addition, an independent literary work was created over the years, which was praised by the public. Official literary criticism saw Burgos - similar to Mateo Booz (1881–1943) or Juan Carlos Dávalos (1887–1959) - as a local writer who refused to accept the more cosmopolitan, metropolitan area of ​​literature. Even though he lived and worked a little retired throughout his life, he corresponded extensively with colleagues such as Manuel Lizondo Borda (1889–1966), Ataliva Herrera (1888–1953), Benito Lynch (1885–1951) and Ricardo Rojas (1882–1957).
