Fazıl Hüsnü Dağlarca
Fazıl Hüsnü Dağlarca (born August 26, 1914 in Constantinople , now Istanbul , † October 15, 2008 in Istanbul) was one of the most productive Turkish poets. As the son of a cavalry officer, he too initially became an officer. After leaving the army, he was an inspector in the Ministry of Labor and opened a bookstore in Istanbul's old town in 1959. Since 1970 he has worked as a freelance writer .
Fazıl Hüsnü Dağlarca has published more than 60 collections of his poems on subjects such as the prehistory of mankind and the cosmos, anti-militarism and the Turkish War of Independence . Dağlarca's multi-layered work has made a significant contribution to the establishment of New Turkish. Three books by him have so far been published in German translation: Come here to Anatolia at last (Harran-Verlag, Berlin 1981), Brot und Taube ( Verlag Volk und Welt , Berlin 1984), Steintaube ( Unionsverlag , Zurich 1999).
