Ulrike Brandi (born January 4, 1957 in Bad Bevensen ) is a lighting designer with an international office with its headquarters in Hamburg .

Life

Ulrike Brandi studied industrial design with Dieter Rams at the Hamburg University of Fine Arts . Since 1987 until today she has realized more than 500 projects (indoor and outdoor spaces) at home and abroad with her office. She has published numerous publications on the subject of light .

In cooperation with architects and landscape planners or independently, Ulrike Brandi develops the lighting concept for the respective task from the changing daylight, which she sees as a characteristic of a specific location, similar to the surrounding landscape. Out of the need to ensure professional training for lighting designers, she founded the Brandi Institute for Light and Design in 2012 .
