Fede Alvarez
Federico Álvarez , or Fede Alvarez (born February 9, 1978 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan film director and screenwriter . He achieved greater fame with his short film Ataque de Pánico! and its successful remake , based on Sam Raimi's Dance of the Devils , Evil Dead .
Career
In 2009 Alvarez released the short film Ataque de Pánico! on the video platform YouTube . A few weeks later, he teamed up with production company Ghost House Pictures to direct a $ 30 million to $ 40 million budget sci-fi film . Said project ended as a reboot of Tanz der Teufel , in which Alvarez directed and wrote the script alongside Rodo Sayagues . Alvarez is working on a film adaptation of the video game Dante's Inferno for Universal Pictures . For his work on Evil Dead , he was nominated for the Chainsaw Award in the Best Wide-Release Film category. In 2016 his second feature film, Don't Breathe, was released .
