Fei Junlong ( Chinese  費 俊 龍  /  费 俊 龙 , Pinyin Fèi Jùnlóng ; born May 5, 1965 in Suzhou , Jiangsu ) is a Chinese Taikonaut . He launched into space on October 12, 2005 as the commander of the Shenzhou 6 mission. This mission was China's second manned and first double-manned space flight, and Fei Junlong's first flight.

In 1982, at the age of 17, he was recruited from high school into the Chinese Air Force . He graduated from the Aviation School two years later as one of the best in the entire Air Force, after which he worked as a flight technology inspector.

In 1998 he was selected as a Taikonaut. He was among the last five candidates for the previous Shenzhou 5 flight . At the start of Shenzhou 6, his replacement for the intended commander Zhai Zhigang was announced at short notice . Nie Haisheng flew with him as co-pilot and flight engineer .

Major General Fei has been married since 1991 and has one son.

In 2005 the asteroid (9512) Feijunlong was named after him.
