Feststengszalot

Feierstengszalot is a beef salad from Luxembourgish cuisine . “Feierstengs” stands for flint , which also means stones that shatter under heat. It is attributed to the Syrtal as the region of origin.

preparation

The basis of the salad is cooked and diced beef and chopped shallots . These are marinated or dressed with a vinaigrette made from cooking oil , vinegar and mustard . Typical spices are salt , pepper and herbs like parsley , tarragon and cress . Optional ingredients are chopped capers or green peas . Before serving, mix the salad with egg wedges . These are bread or boiled potatoes consumed.
