Felicia is a white grape variety with medium resistance to downy mildew and high resistance to powdery mildew . This new breed was crossed in 1984 at the Geilweilerhof Institute for Vine Breeding between the Sirius and Vidal Blanc varieties . Plant variety protection was granted in 2004.
Due to its resistance to powdery mildew, the plant protection can be reduced by 70–80% compared to traditional grape varieties. Large, golden yellow berries make Felicia attractive for use as an ornamental vine on house walls and pergolas .
Felicia delivers a bouquet characterized by floral aromas , which in some years is combined with a subtle, pleasant nutmeg tone. The wines are digestible with a harmonious acidity and often achieve late and selected quality.
