Felicitas Breest is a German soprano and actress .

Felicitas Breest grew up in a family of musicians in Hamburg as the daughter of Almuth and Günther Breest.

She graduated from the Hamburg Drama School in 2001 . She also received singing lessons from Sam Thiel, followed by Prof. Cheryl Studer . After permanent engagements at the Meininger Staatstheater (2005–2009) and the Theater Krefeld and Mönchengladbach (2010–2012) as well as guest roles at the Staatstheater Weimar and the Halle Opera , both directed by Thirza Bruncken , Felicitas Breest devoted herself to lieder and opera .

With various programs that combine music and literature - e.g. B. The Winterreise by Franz Schubert , with excerpts from Lenz by Georg Büchner - she appears with the pianist Siegfried Gerlich and the actress Hannelore Hoger . She is a member of George Kochbeck's ensemble .

Together with the pianist Masha Dimitrieva , Felicitas Breest released a world premiere recording of the songs by Gordon Sherwood in 2019 . It is the first CD of a planned complete recording of the previously unpublished songs by the American composer.
