Felicitas Mayall

Felicitas Mayall , actually Barbara Felizitas Veit-Mayall (* as Barbara Felizitas Veit July 31, 1947 in Munich ; † July 21, 2016 ), was a German journalist and writer .

Life

Raised in Wiesbaden and Hamburg , Barbara Veit studied politics and newspaper science after successfully completing her school days and graduated from the German School of Journalism in Munich. Then she got a job in the editorial office of the Süddeutsche Zeitung . Her first literary attempts also date from this period. After she became more and more successful with her fiction work, she gave up journalism and from 1978 devoted herself only to her own writing. The author published her children's and young people's books as well as some non-fiction books under her maiden name, detective novels and other non-fiction books under the pseudonym “Felicitas Mayall”.

Barbara Veit, aka Felicitas Mayall, had two sons. The son Daniel Veit is a German economist and holds the chair for information systems and management at the University of Augsburg. In 1995 the writer married the Australian Paul Mayall and later lived alternately in Australia and in Prien am Chiemsee . She lived in Munich-Haidhausen for more than twenty-five years . Veit died in July 2016 at the age of 68 after a serious illness.
