Feliks Władysław Starczewski

Feliks Władysław Starczewski (born May 27, 1868 in Warsaw ; † November 29, 1945 there ) was a Polish composer .

Starczewski studied composition with Antoni Sygietyński and music theory with Zygmunt Noskowski at the Warsaw Conservatory . He continued his musicological training with Heinrich Bellermann , Oskar Fleischer and Max Friedlaender in Berlin and studied composition with Engelbert Humperdinck and in Paris with Vincent d'Indy .

From 1894 he was a piano teacher at the Warsaw Conservatory. In 1903 he became the librarian of the Warsaw Music Society . He wrote music-historical articles for magazines such as Kwartalnik Muzyczny , Muzyka and Słownik biograficzny PAU and composed a. a. an opera and several orchestral pieces, two piano sonatas, piano variations, a violin sonata and songs.
