Felix Bergsmann

Felix Bergsmann (born September 7, 1936 in Waldburg ; died July 27, 2018 in Linz ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and ÖBB official. Bergsmann was a member of the National Council between 1982 and 1990 and from 1993 to 1994 and a member of the Federal Council from 1990 to 1993 .

education and profession

Bergsmann attended elementary and secondary school in Traun between 1942 and 1951 and subsequently learned to be a machine fitter. After completing his apprenticeship in 1954, Bergsmann attended training as a locomotive driver in Wels and Linz from 1954 to 1956 and then worked in this profession from 1956 to 1966.

In 1965 he was employed in the Linz train conveyance line with the Linz wagon workshop with the title of Bundesbahn-Adjunkt (salary group Va), later with the title of Bundesbahn-Revident (salary group VIa). He was then from 1967 to 1974 machine foreman, in 1968 with the title of Bundesbahn-Oberrevident (salary group VIIa).

From 1974 to 1995 he was employed as a technical works clerk at ÖBB. In 1980, Felix Bergsmann worked in the Garsten train conveyance station with the title of Bundesbahn Oberrevident (salary group VIIb). In 1984 he was employed in the Linz train conveyance line with the Linz wagon workshop with the title of Bundesbahn-Oberrevident (salary group VIIb).

Bergsmann also graduated from the Catholic Social Academy in Vienna.

politics

Bergsmann was active as a staff representative at the ÖBB Linz between 1970 and 1983 and between 1972 and 1982 was the chairman of the ÖVP local group Linz- Keferfeld . Between 1977 and 1983 he took over the office of district chairman of the ÖVP Linz-Süd. Bergsmann was active in the union and between 1983 and 1995 held the post of representative of the union of railway workers. He was also federal chairman of the ÖAAB / FCG of railway workers from 1983 to 1995. Furthermore, between 1974 and 1982 and from 1984 to 1994 he held the function of a chamber council of the chamber for workers and salaried employees for Upper Austria.

Bergsmann represented the ÖVP between December 7, 1982 and November 4, 1990 in the National Council. He then moved to the Federal Council between December 12, 1990 and February 11, 1993 and was again a member of the National Council from February 12, 1993 to November 6, 1994.
