Felix Bornemann

Felix Bornemann (born November 17, 1861 in Leipzig , † October 1932 in Eisenach ) was a German crop scientist.

Bornemann studied natural sciences in Göttingen and Berlin, received his doctorate in Freiburg im Breisgau in 1887 and then went into practical agriculture. From 1891 to 1901 he was domain tenant on the Trenkelhof near Eisenach. He then studied agriculture in Berlin. In 1908 he received the Venia legendi for farm management and arable farming at the Agricultural University in Berlin . As a private lecturer or later as a professor, he was a member of the teaching staff at this university until 1921. He then worked as a business consultant.

Since 1901 Bornemann has published numerous articles on tillage, weed control and fertilization in specialist journals. He is also the author of several books. His award-winning paper on the most important agricultural weeds was published three times . As an imaginative experimenter, he was active in the field of carbon dioxide fertilization .
