Felix Hafner (lawyer)

Felix Hafner (* 1956 in Basel ) is a Swiss lawyer and professor at the University of Basel .

Life

Hafner studied classical philology , theology and law at the Universities of Basel and Freiburg im Breisgau . In 1981 he graduated with a law degree . He then worked as a research assistant at the Law Faculty of the University of Basel and received his doctorate in 1984. Dr. iur.

From 1986 to 2005 he worked as an administrative lawyer in the Justice Department of the Canton of Basel-Stadt . In 1992 , he completed his habilitation at the University of Basel, where he became adjunct professor from 1997 and full professor for public law from 2001 . Since 2006 he has also been dean of the law faculty.

His preferred research areas are constitutional law , administrative law (especially public personnel law), history of public law, canon law and legal philosophy .
