Felix Klipstein (born December 21, 1880 in Gent ; † July 4, 1941 in Laubach ) was a German painter, draftsman and graphic artist.

Growing up in Belgium and in Laubach , Klipstein spent his student years mainly in France and Spain , where he dealt in particular with Velázquez . Other role models are Albrecht Dürer and Wilhelm Leibl . There are also some indications that Klipstein was strongly influenced by the work and theoretical writings of the Swiss painter Ferdinand Hodler .

In Madrid , Klipstein met his future wife, the writer Editha Klipstein , née Blaß. In 1909 they married in Halle and after a nine-month stay in Segovia, Spain, they moved to Laubach in Hesse.

Klipstein was wounded in the first few weeks of the First World War and was slightly disabled. Despite some larger exhibitions, including in Berlin , Klipstein is hardly known beyond the Hessian borders.
