Felix Plieninger

Felix Plieninger (born July 27, 1868 in Stuttgart , † April 11, 1954 in Stuttgart-Degerloch) was a German paleontologist and geologist .

Live and act

He was professor of geology at the Agricultural University of Hohenheim and its rector from 1927 to 1928.

Plieninger is known for research on pterosaurs ( pterosaurs ). He was responsible for the division into long-tailed and short-tailed pterosaurs in 1895 .

In 1951 he became an honorary member of the Association for Patriotic Natural History in Württemberg .
