Felix Ramprecht

Felix Harald Konrad Ramprecht (born October 29, 1992 in Munich ) is an Austrian middle-distance runner. His special disciplines include the 800 and 1500 meter run . One of his greatest successes was winning the state championship over 800 meters in the hall in 2016. He has been a German-Austrian dual citizen since 2014.

Athletic career

Ramprecht began his sporting career in tennis, where he wanted to pursue a professional career. As a 17-year-old he also took part in duathlon and triathlon competitions as a relay runner. There the local athletics club noticed him and invited him to training. He made his debut in September 2009 at the Austrian U18 championships, where he immediately took 3rd place in the 3000 meter run . He then decided to give up his tennis career to devote himself exclusively to running.

In 2010 he went to the then national coach Wilhelm Lilge and trained in Andreas Vojta's training group . In 2011 he won the title in the 1500 and 1500 meter run in the U20 class and was able to increase his time over 1500 meters from 4:11 to 4:01.

In 2012 he was able to secure the Austrian title over 800 and 1500 meters in the U23 and set a championship record in the U23 class (3:56 min) that was valid until 2016. He improved his time over 1500 meters at a meeting in Germany to 3: 51.06 min.

In 2013/14 he switched to Raphael Pallitsch . There he was able to secure further titles over 800/1500 meters in the U23 class in 2014. He decided to focus on 800 meters.

In 2016 he increased his indoor best time over 800 meters to 1: 51.68 min, became Austrian national champion with a start-finish victory and finished the indoor season as number 1 with his 800 meter best time.

In addition to his individual titles, he was also able to win the 3 x 1000 meter relay twice at the Austrian championships.

Ramprecht did his basic military service in the Army Sports Center in BSFZ-Südstadt in 2016/17.
