Felix Stalder (* 1968 in Basel ) is a Swiss cultural and media scholar.

Act

Stalder is professor for digital culture and theories of networking at the Zurich University of the Arts , a member of the World Information Institute in Vienna and a long-time moderator of <nettime>, an international mailing list for online criticism. He deals with the interrelationship between society, culture and technology and researches, among other things, digitality , copyright , commons , privacy , control society and subjectivity .

In addition to scientific work, he also carries out extensive journalistic, cultural and political activities. He is a co-founder of Digital Allmend (Zurich), the initiative Kunstfreiheit.ch and power Political Abendes (Vienna). Together with Konrad Becker , he organized interdisciplinary conferences such as Open Cultures (Vienna, 2003), World-Information City (Bangalore, 2005, Paris, 2009) and Deep Search. The Politics of Searching Beyond Google (Vienna, 2008, 2010), Shared Digital Futures (Vienna 2013) and Algorithmic Regimes (Vienna, 2015).

He lives and works in Vienna and Zurich.
