Sylvaine Helary

Sylvaine Hélary (* around 1985 in Toulouse ) is a French flutist who has also emerged as a jazz musician ( flutes , singing , composition ).

Live and act

After studying classical music in Toulouse and Paris, Hélary played for a year with the Munich Symphony Orchestra and then with the Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam . Since October 2007 she has been the second flutist in the Oviedo Orchestra .

In addition, she was a member of the band Martine à la Plage between 2000 and 2006 . Since 2004 she was in the French, but also in the German jazz scene a. a. with Didier Levallet , Denis Colin and in the Nachbaratural Orchestra , in the bands Monio Mania , Healing Unit , Eve Risser White Desert Orchestra and Das Rote Gras . In 2015 she released the double album Spring Roll / Printemps ( Ayler Records ) under her own name , on which u. a. Hugues Mayot , Julien Boudart , Sylvain Lemêtre and blogger Aalam Wassef contributed. While the first part is a “hybrid of theater, music, sound poetry and political manifesto” (in relation to the Arab Spring in Egypt), the instrumental second part is “a musical reflection and expansion of it”. Hélary entered a. a. also with Michel Edelin and Kris Davis . In 2013 she performed with the Orchester National de Jazz in its Piazzolla program. She also worked as a studio musician .
