Antonin-Tri Hoang

Antonin-Tri Hoang (* 1989 in Paris ) is a French jazz musician ( clarinets , alto saxophone , composition ).

Hoang began taking classical clarinet lessons from the age of nine, but soon began to be interested in swing music . His stepfather, an amateur gypsy jazz musician, encouraged him to improvise at an early age. As early as 2005 he began to study in the jazz class of Riccardo Del Fra at the Paris Conservatory and then to attend the improvisation class of Vinci Le Quang. In 2007 he wrote a piece dedicated to Michel Legrand , which he performed with him in New York. He also composed the music for two films by Ambarish Mannepalli , Chassé-croisé (2008) and Wink of the Eye (2009). In 2009 Daniel Yvinec brought him to the Orchester National de Jazz , with whom he released three albums. He released a duo album with Benoît Delbecq in 2011. He is co-founder of the jazz band Novembre and the clarinet quartet WATT and maintains a duo with Eve Risser .

With Jean-Jacques Birgé (and Vincent Segal) he recorded the soundtrack for the experimental film Dépaysages by Jacques Perconte . He also belongs to various improvisation and jazz ensembles, such as the Grand Bazar , the Aum Grand Ensemble , Risser's White Dessert Orchestra , the Umlaut Big Band , the Anne Paceo quintet , the Paul Lay ( Mikado ) quartet and Matteo Bortones Travelers on. Between 2009 and 2018 he took part in 13 recordings in the field of jazz. In Germany he also appears with the Lisbeth Quartet .
