Daniel Yvinec
Daniel Yvinec (born April 4, 1963 in Vannes ) is a French jazz musician ( double bass , big band leader), music producer and author.
Live and act
Yvinec first learned oboe for ten years before switching to guitar and then bass. In 1986 he went to study at the Manhattan School of Music in New York City , where Marc Johnson , Eddie Gomez and Anthony Jackson trained him. After gaining various musical experiences ( Maceo Parker , Klezmer ), he returned to France, where he worked with Pierrejean Gaucher , Salif Keita , Cheb Mami and Tânia Maria . He also recorded with David Sylvian , John Cale , Suzanne Vega , Dead Can Dance and Ryūichi Sakamoto and also worked for music productions by Peter Gabriel and David Byrne . In 2002 he recorded his album Recycling the Future . More albums followed. From September 2008 until 2013 he directed the Orchester National de Jazz , with which he presented works by Robert Wyatt , Astor Piazzolla and John Hollenbeck . In 2009 Yvinec also released the album Songs from the Last Century with pianist Guillaume de Chassy with numerous cover versions.
He also worked as a music producer for Blue Note Records , Universal, BMG and Label Bleu . In 1992 he edited a volume of short stories ( The Umbrella Man ); he also wrote for Jazz Magazine and for Muziq.
