Felix Vogel

Felix Vogel (born January 1, 1928 ) is a former Dresden soccer player and soccer coach. For the SC Einheit Dresden and its predecessors, he played in the top division of the GDR football association . With the SC unit he was cup winner, after its relegation to the second division he took over the coaching position, which he also held at the successor FSV Lokomotive .

As a youth footballer, Vogel played for Sportfreunde 01 Dresden from 1941 to 1944 . After the Second World War, he joined the SG Dresden-Mickten , with which he was Saxony champion and Saxon cup winner in 1950. He then won the promotion round to the GDR Oberliga with the SG Mickten . In the major league, Vogel's team initially played as BSG Sachsenverlag and renamed itself to BSG Rotation during the season . On June 14, 1953, Vogel played his only GDR selection game. With the B national team he played in the encounter Bulgaria - GDR (2: 1) as a half-right striker. 1954 Vogel was one of the players who were taken over by the newly founded SC Einheit Dresden. During these years, Vogel and Eberhardt Petersohn, Lothar Müller, Harry Arlt and Werner Prenzel were part of the legendary Dresden wonder storm. On December 14, 1958 , Vogel won the GDR soccer cup with SC Einheit after a 2-1 victory over SC Lok Leipzig. In this game he was used as a center forward.

After the end of the 1962 season and the relegation of Einheit Dresden from the league, Vogel ended his career as a football player. Between 1950 and 1962 he played 259 games in the GDR league and scored 77 goals (according to Leske, according to Baingo / Horn 246/72). At the beginning of 1963 he took over the training of the SC unit soccer team in the second-rate GDR league , but he did not make the hoped-for return to the league either this year or later. In 1966 his team was spun off from the sports club and then joined as FSV Lokomotive Dresden. In 1977 Vogel stopped working as an FSV trainer.
