The Felsenkeller at Dieburger Straße 80 is a building in Darmstadt .
History and description
At a depth of about 10 meters there is an extensive system of cooling cellars of the former Heinrich Orlemann brewery . From a main cellar about 25 meters long, about 4 meters wide and about 3 meters high, there are several side cellars - including a lower " lake " and a brick, 8-meter-high dome - as well as several passages that are buried today. The basement ceilings are partially bricked or supported with relief arches. Common to all masonry parts is the imperial format introduced in 1872 (according to other information, 1873) . The plant was probably built around 1882 together with a barrel hall .
Monument protection
For architectural, industrial and urban history reasons, the building is considered a cultural monument .
