Felsentherme Bad Gastein
The Felsentherme Bad Gastein is located in the municipality of Bad Gastein in the St. Johann im Pongau district in the province of Salzburg .
history
The facility was built as a rock pool from 1967 to 1968 according to the plans of the architect Gerhard Garstenauer .
architecture
Due to the topography, the outdoor pool was fixed locally, so the space for the indoor pool was blasted out of the rock; Parts of the natural rocks have been left visible in the building. The building is a concrete skeleton structure that has been left uncluttered, with precast concrete elements placed in front of the parapets and storey edges. Inside, wood and glass dominate room separations.
